A penis becomes circumcised when the foreskin is removed. Foreskin is the loose skin that covers, partially or fully, the head of a penis. All boys are born with foreskin. Circumcision is a surgical procedure which usually happens shortly after birth and is often completed for religious or cultural reasons. Some people may get circumcised later in life due to health reasons.
