Are you looking for somewhere to get youth-friendly, sex-positive, non-judgmental health care? Check out Planned Parenthood Toronto’s (PPT) Health Services, a one-stop clinic for all of your health needs.
If you don’t feel comfortable talking to your family doctor about sex, Planned Parenthood Toronto’s (PPT) Health Services are for youth between the ages of 13 and 29. PPT has lots of experience and can help you with any issues that you might be facing. PPT is pro-choice, and originally started as a sexual health clinic, so they are a great place to go to talk about things like sex, birth control, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), or whether you’re ready to have sex.
PPT runs the clinic – a health service that has an interdisciplinary health team. This means there are professionals working in a variety of fields – from doctors to social workers to therapists. This allows you to go to one place for your yearly physical, to get checked for an STI, to see a counsellor, and to get help finding other services within Toronto. They are your one-stop clinic, whether you just need a flu shot, are worried that you might be pregnant, or need help finding housing or employment.
Other great services you can access at PPT’s Health Services:
- Birth control at reduced prices
- Free mental health services, including individual and/or couples therapy on issues like self-esteem, body image, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relationships, family issues, sexual violence, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, post abortion counselling, sexual orientation and identity issues, and grief and loss
- A Case Coordinator who can help you get information and referrals to a range of social service agencies, like housing, legal, immigration, and employment
