Getting over it

If you feel bad:

  • list your favourite things to do ... and start to do them
  • talk to friends for support
  • give yourself time to feel better
  • you might not want to rush into a new relationship

Dating someone new

Watch out for:

  • comparing a new partner to old ones
  • expecting your new partner to act a certain way based on past relationships
  • forgetting what you learned about yourself in past relationships

Getting back together

Sometimes a little time spent apart can help you realize what you want in a relationship. You may decide to get back together with your ex. This may be a really good choice for you, but think twice.

These may not be good reasons to reconnect:

  • being single is lonely
  • you’re afraid you won’t meet anyone else
  • you feel guilty
  • other people think you should
