Age of Consent

Each country has its own laws about age and sexual activity.

In Canada, even if two people believe they have consented to sexual activity, the older person could be found guilty of a sexual offence if:

• One partner is under 14 and the other person is more than two years older
• One partner is between the age of 14 and 18 and the other person is in a position of authority (like a doctor or teacher

It is illegal to have any sexually activity with:

• People under the age of 12
• People who are 12 and 13 years old, unless you are a less than two years older, and not in a position of trust or authority

You cannot legally give consent for anal sex until you are 18 years old.
