The female should be turned on so that her vagina is naturally lubricated (wet) and she enjoys this kind of sex more. Lubricants like KY Jelly and Astroglide can help with any dryness.

The male cannot penetrate the vagina unless his penis is completely erect. If the male is nervous, he may have trouble getting an erection.

If the female is not relaxed, her muscles may be tight, making this kind of sex uncomfortable for her.

If a female has never had sex, the penis may need to break through her hymen. This may be uncomfortable, and may cause a small amount of bleeding.

If you have a physical disability or an injury, experiment to find the positions that are most comfortable. For example, positions which will put the least pressure on sensitive joints, and cause the least fatigue.

Wait until both people are ready, aroused, and interested.
