It Just Happened Once

Lots of people have a same-sex experience, whether they do or do not call themselves lesbian, gay, bi, or heterosexual. A same-sex experience can be anything from a moment of attraction to fooling around.

Maybe you really enjoyed it, and think you might be lesbian, gay or bi. That’s okay.

Maybe you enjoyed it, but know you’re not lesbian, gay or bi. That’s okay too.

When you are exploring your sexuality with others, it’s good to keep these things in mind:

  • Remind yourself that same-sex experiences are normal for everyone
  • It’s okay to just wait and see if it happens again
  • There’s no rush to label yourself with a specific sexual orientation, and you actually never have to

If you think you could be lesbian, gay or bi, it might help to read some books or Internet sites about same-sex relationships. You might also want to visit a community group for teens exploring their own sexuality.
