Sometimes people feel confused about who they are, or like they are trapped inside the wrong body. Born as the wrong sex. Or like dressing in clothes of the opposite gender.
Popular culture is still struggling to understand what it means to be transgendered. Basically, it means someone’s sense of self and sexuality is in conflict with the body’s physical, biological and social identity – one’s “assigned sex.”
If you feel like this, it’s okay. Consider:
- talking to someone you trust
- visiting a transgendered community group
- finding transgendered-friendly sites online
